The Only Authentic Armenian Restaurant in the Canary Islands

Charcoal-grilled Shashlik, handmade Dolma & Ajarian Khachapuri — Las Americas, Tenerife

Who We Are

We started Rincon Armenio to bring real Armenian and Caucasian cooking to Tenerife. Tucked away in Playa de las Américas (right where Costa Adeje starts), we are the only restaurant in the Canary Islands dedicated entirely to traditional recipes from Armenia and the Caucasus.

We don't do 'fusion' or trendy tricks. We're a family-run Armenian restaurant, pure and simple. That means we don't take shortcuts in the kitchen—we stick to the slow, traditional ways of cooking and welcome every guest like they're family visiting our home.

With a 4.8-star rating from over 1,000 guests on Google and TripAdvisor, we're proud to be a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike.

Armenian Restaurant in the Canary Islands

Our Three Signature Dishes

Three dishes define Rincon Armenio. Each one is a living tradition, prepared with methods unchanged for generations — and unavailable anywhere else in the Canary Islands.

Armenian Shashlik BBQ Tenerife
Must Try Dish

Charcoal-Grilled Armenian Shashlik

In Armenia, shashlik is the star of any gathering, and it's the heart of our kitchen here. We don't compromise: our meat is marinated for at least 24 hours. We marinate with dried savory (kondari) and sweet paprika, skewer it by hand, and grill it over hot natural charcoal. No gas grills, no electric cookers—just real smoke and fire.

We offer three varieties, each with its own character:

  • Pork Shashlik — Juicy pork shoulder marinated in traditional Armenian spices and a touch of citrus, grilled until caramelized. It's our most popular dish for a reason.
  • Lamb Shashlik — Tender cuts of lamb cooked slowly over the embers. This is for guests who appreciate that good food takes time.
  • Chicken Shashlik — Chicken breast marinated in our house adjika spices so it stays juicy on the inside while getting a nice smoky, golden crust on the outside.

Our charcoal grill is the heart of the restaurant. If you smell woodsmoke from the terrace, you know the fire is lit and we're cooking. You won't find shashlik made this way anywhere else in the islands.

Homemade Dolma Tenerife
Must Try Dish

Homemade Dolma — Made Fresh Daily

Dolma has been cooked in Armenian homes for thousands of years. We don't buy ours pre-made or use canned shortcuts. Every single dolma is rolled by hand in our kitchen daily, using a recipe passed down from our grandparents.

We mix seasoned pork and beef, wrapping it tightly in tender grape leaves. The filling is spiced with dried savory (kondari), sweet paprika, and a touch of salt. Getting them all the same size and shape takes years of practice. It's a labor of love, and you'll taste the difference.

We are the only kitchen in Tenerife rolling dolma fresh from scratch. If you're looking for the real deal, we're waiting for you.

Ajarian Khachapuri Tenerife

Ajarian Khachapuri — The Boat of the Caucasus

Ajarian Khachapuri is a real showstopper. It's a fresh, boat-shaped bread we bake from scratch, fill with melted, stretchy cheese, and top with a fresh egg cracked right in the middle just as it leaves the oven.

We knead the dough by hand every day, letting it rise naturally so the crust gets crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Mix the hot cheese and egg together at your table with a fork, tear off a piece of the crust, and dip it in—it's pure comfort food.

We take pride in serving this exactly the way they do back home. It's why guests tell us it's unlike anything else they've tried in Spain.

A Quiet Terrace in Las Americas

Our Terrace

Our terrace is enclosed, shaded, and safe — a deliberate sanctuary away from the noise and congestion of the main tourist strips. Reachable on foot from the Las Americas hotel zone, we exist at one remove from the overcrowded commercial corridors, which is precisely why guests who find us feel they have discovered something private and authentic.

Family Atmosphere

We are one of the top-rated family-friendly restaurants in Playa de las Américas. We operate a dedicated Kids Menu, provide high chairs, and our terrace is safe for children to move freely. We do not play loud music. We do not rush tables. Well-behaved pets are welcome.

Parking

Parking is available directly behind the restaurant on Calle Cuba and Calle Guatemala. Parking on the Avenida is not recommended as it can be busy. We are easy to reach on foot from all Las Americas hotels.
